Versailles

Photos - Parc de Versailles II - The surroundings

It's a huge garden with beautiful vistas and views. This is the first thing we see once we have payed our 7€ at the entrance ... it still rankles a bit ... it's a bit of your typical postcard scene that everyone takes home as a souvenir.

Every time i go to the park i do always stop to take in the view.

Underneath is the same water feature about 1/2 hour later.

As always in most the parks in Paris there are hundreds and hundreds of statues representing different gods and godesses, near to naked porky people and the young boy king being kind to the animals ... before he shoots them and makes them into pie most probably.

Here's just a few statues, more or less in the order that we meet them as we walk down to Le Grand canal - the main water feature.

Scattered all around the garden are little Bosquets.

Secluded little areas, built around a fountain or waterfall feature and separated off from the rest of the garden by bushes and trees etc

When the park was undergoing a bit of a brush up, I saw this set of metalwork being lifted into place from the back window

Thank you

Hey Mike, if your looking for villains' names, just give me shout.

Maybe, S.G, when you're deciding on your honey moon, you could have a visit to Europe and take in the nice cities ;@)
