I've reached the end of the week in one piece. It's been bonkersmadness. Non stop e-mails, phone calls .. people are supposed to be on holiday.
Goddamit.
Mind you, i've seen no neurotics, mad axe people or potential murderers, so that's .. y'know .. always nice ..... one person i spoke to today was english !
A real life english person.
Living & working in France.
It may sound stupid but, i'm always speaking to french people, like y'know ... just for general everyday stuff.
My essential co-workers are french, so the daily office banter is in french ... e-mails are in french .. handwritten, off the cuff memos are in french - i don't have a blonde secretary unfortunately.
It's very multicultural, but everything is done in french.
Any how ... I just didn't twig ... i recognised that she had a bit of an accent, but not as being english *it sounds strange i know*
We started speaking in french, as you do, when after less than five minutes she said to me, in a most excellent Oxbridge accent : "Oh my goodness, you're english aren't you ?! How wonderful !"
It felt like the scene from "The great escape" where Gordon Jackson & Donald Plaisance get sussed by the SS after saying "Thank you" in reply to "Have a nice trip".
"What gave me away ? *coppah* " ..... "euewww it was the wây that you said 'bisnis'" ... "hmm" i said ..
And that was it ... the highlight of my day.
The plan is : i get up 6hrs from now, get to work at about 8.30. Rightly leave at 4.30 (or 4pm if i don't stop for lunch) and get home and start my weekend.
My weekend ?
It's still 18hrs away i'm just gonna wing it, me and mahh mojo, baby.
;@)
