Anglo saxon news dump

A quick wizz round the sundays ...

Over there to start

Three articles from over the pond really grabbed me this weekend - after the Falludjah blitzkreig and the torture oops my fingers keep slipping concent prison camps, welcome to the latest atrocity brought to us by the Ü.S marine corps : Haditha - A Mai Lai style massacre for the twenty-hundreds.

Next up, from Robert Kagan : kick the repukes out in 2008, but watch out; it could be a re-run of 1952 ...

Talking of er elections, and this from the Times on sunday : our favorite, charismatic rogue and all round role model, the one and only Bill 'Big Chopper' Clinton. is back in the news with a 'is he or is he not ?' shag seeing Belinda Stronach story.

Back to blighted Blighty

The Indy leads in with details of the inquiry into the July 7th bombings ... i'm just so not surprised :o/

Heads are about to roll, i hope, in the house of Monseigneur Bliar. Reports pretty much everywhere are saying that Tessa Jowell knew all about her husbands undisclosed dosh ... John Prescott has been a bit of a silly billy (again) and his colleagues are all lining up to ... erm .. give him the chop.

On the upside, Bliar is fixing to invite his favorite spiritual leader, the catholic mullah for a state visit ... more flag waving and street parties waayhaaay

In the Observer comments section has a bit of a grumble (but with a stiff upper lip, of course) about how/when/if the olympic infrastructure will be ready on time ... bwouahahaha, you lot wanted it so badly that you had to cheat to get it ... the words roost, chickens, and coming home, all come to mind :^*

Also in the comments, Andrew Rawnsley has a good piece about the weeks royal state visit to see Chimpster ... it's a good read, but i don't agree with his final paragraph "... If the cause of humanitarian interventionism is lost in Iraq, it won't just be Tony Blair who has tragic cause to be sorry." ...

In the magazine this week there's a good interview with Mr Generation X himself : Euan Fergusson

On a lighter note, back to, the Indy, apparently the Brits have found a new addiction ...
