The power of nightmares

Way back in January 2005, the BBC put out a three part series looking at how politicians have been using fear to get away with what ever they wanted for the last 50-odd years.

Everything began in 1949 when the forefathers of both the neo-cons and radical islam felt that social cohesion was gradually draining away.

A new set of values had to be imposed on an unwary and dormant poulace.

To impose these ideas, an existential threat had to be created ; the russians, islam, and now radical islam.

The resulting theories have resulted in untold atrocities including race riots, the Sadat asassination, the russian Afghan invasion ... right up to where we are today.

It's interesting and shocking to see that the current players in world politics have been at the forefront of dangerous policies, based on a completely skewed world vision... why haven't these people been found out before ?
