An englishman in Paris

Right here right now...

... 'tis the season of sniffs and snuffles, coughs and kershews ... people sneezing like some godforsaken cur, left out and long forgotten in the cold evenings.

Autumn has arrived with it's strange mix of warmish days, chilly breaks and downright nippy mornings.

On the tube this morning, i figured that one in eight people had some kind of doomsday mystery affliction but all with the same lung rattling, sinus snapping symptoms ... it's little wonder that our nippon friends go to work wearing surgical face masks.

One of my most sturdiest of pals has started feeling decidedly unhealthy .. she too had remarked on the proliferation of hackers and hawkers on her way into Paris in the mornings.

"But but but .. i'm never, ever sick" *she winged, in that "i'm living a near imminent death experience" voice, usually reserved for married men*

"It's enough to make me wonder if there's not something ... y'know ... kinda ... in the air ... y'know .. like every where .. on the planet"

Hmm, i said ...

"That sounds like a dose of tin-hattery if y'ask me ... what pills are you on ? ... can you get me some ?!"
