The good weather continues ...
A long time ago i went to an exhibition about ancient Egypt at L'institute du monde arabe.
I have to confess; wasn't that interested by the exhibition itself but i found the building outstanding - it's incredibly impressive and very sophisticated looking.
What i learned after the fact was that the 'windows', as they are, are all composed using intricate shutters that react to the intensity of the available light in the same way that a camera lense works ...
I didn't have any particular idea for today, i just wanted to walk around and check the place out.
There was nothing on and the library was closed.
I thought i'd go to the terrace for a bit of a mint tea and a few sticky, honey laden oriental patisseries (i'm such a sucker for that stuff).
I sat at a table and waited ... and waited ... eventually a chick came out, handed me a menu and *plouf* disappeared, never to be seen again.
I hung around a bit longer, soaking up the sun.
When girly reappeared i asked her for a mint tea and she nodded bruskly then walked off - at which point i did the same (enough's enough and all that).
As i was leaving the institute i saw, accross the courtyard, an exhibition about everyday objects from 'medina' ...
O.K O.K O.K, i thought it's just a commercial exercise to entice us all to part with our hard earned (humm humm) cash.
Never the less, a quick butchers made me start snapping away ...
