I've already said, a few months ago, that food is my big thing - i can't think of any better way to spend a weekend, than pottering around in the kitchen and rustling up something that's been made by hand a part from shaggin' that is
I've been known to gamely traipse though snowstorms and downpours of biblical proportions just to find the one thing that's missing from my larder, only to discover that the unique boutique where i should be able to find it has either moved, been transformed into something else or is closed 'exceptionally' for the day ...
A while back, someone told me that if ever i wanted to get my hands on some exceptional oriental pâtisseries, i should check out 'the' reference in Paris for north african cakes
I've just got home, then, from La Bague de Kenza which can be found at 108 rue de Maur, in the 11th district
I found myself plunged into a cornucopia of what would be, for some people, a palace of fattening temptation - there's so much to choose from and although the cornes de gazelle aren't my favorite, i'm a sucker for amongst other things les cheveux d'ange, makrout and hancha
It wasn't easy making a choice, and after much 'humming' and 'ahhing', i walked away with a bakers dozen of mouth-watering morcels
Here i am then, back home, with what must be a 3kg package of goodies, made up of little other than semolina flour, nuts, honey and figues
Wish me well as i tuck into my unfattening treat over the weekend ;@)
