Rainy sunday
Another plan goes out the window.
I was going to go to the sacré coeur this morning to take some lovely photos at sun rise.
I woke up dead early only to find the sky a bit dull and overcast ... so i dozed of back to sleep ... as you do.
At about 11 this morning, we had a storm of biblical proportions ...well .. not quite the full forty days and nights stuff, but anyway, the dark sky became darker, the thunder started booming and the lightening frightened the beejebus out of Winnie the cat.
The view above is from the front room looking in the direction of the market place ... it really was that dark outside.
The green stuff in front's not bushes, but the tops of trees; in a few weeks it will look like a prairie or a field and bizzarely enough, the buildings in front remind me of ships ... so you get the distinct impression of being on a green leafy sea ! ... perhaps i should cut down/ take more of them pills.
This one here is from the back looking towards the park which is obscured by the big oak tree that should have gone during the big storm in 2000.
In the summer, the sun comes streaming in and at night the birdies sing and the big fat hungry mosquitoes come out to play - hello chukunguya.
The critters obviously have a preference for english meat .. or perhaps they've just taken a liking to yours truly.
It's ironic that with the rays of hot sun this week, the guy up the road has just put out his barbeque and parasol .. i't be a shame if gets all mouldy now.
