Paris métro
Back on the road again
I've been out and about a bit again today and i'm always surprised as to how some métro stations are decorated; statues of this and that, bits of the Eiffel tower used in the roof, art déco etc ... most of them are admittedly bog standard but others are really quite splendid to look at... i don't know if people really have time to look and take things in, but i'm amazed at how much stuff there is just lying around.
I have to admit it's been a long time since i've been on the London underground so it's difficult to judge if Paris is the exception to the rule, if things are really that different compared to other places or if it's the same every where else.
Obviously, being near the Louvre i s'pose there's a bit of soft marketing going on to entice people to come in and have a look around ;-)
From the opposite platform:
The egyptian theme:
It's the pink panthah !
But, ya know, after a while egypt gets a bit boring so let's move onto Greece :
Bronze(d) Adonis - in other words; me with my suntan :
That's about all from Rivoli-Louvre station.
On the way back i just couldn't resist stopping to check out concorde :
I'm not a cross word fanatic by any means and i'm not intosad sodak pffft .. the numbers in squares craze thingy that every one does in the morning on the train, but i love trying to unravel cryptic phrases we see all around the station.
Above, with a bit of neck strain we can make out the following: toute société dans laquelle la garantie des droits n'est pas assurée ni la partition des pouvoirs determinee n'a point de constitution.
N'est ce pas
