An englishman in Paris

H - 8

Nobody is working today.

We're all talking about last nights fabulous match.

We all believe France will win - but with some difficulty.

We all think that Domenech shouldn't play Viera or Ribery tonight as they're both reknowned for short fuses and it would be a shame if they didn't make it to the final.

There is division though: some people were really hoping for a remake of 1984 and revenge for the Batiston takle by Schumacher which went unpunised "on veux les niquer chez eux" is the refrain i've been hearing.

However there is also the other argument that Italy really deserve to continue as they have played some great football and have changed their playing style to great effect.

Whatever ... as long as France win tonight ...

Update @ 17.00

I'm soooooooooo bored talking tactics and team line up that i'm going to bog off home in about ten minutes.

I'm not even french but i'm completely stressed out by the anticipation of what's going to happen.

Following your comments on Petite's site I thought you were going to have a rubbish blog but it isn't actually too bad.
Well done!

Y'see .. i'm not such a big bad wolf after all ;-)

It's true that i get a bit browned off about the general perception of France and the french.... i should really button it, i know ... but pffft :-(

Anyhow, thanks for the visit and above all for leaving a comment.

What would it take for this thing to move up a grade from 'Not too bad ' to 'Hmmmouais, quite good' - I'm not beeing sarky, i would love to know how to improve things.

I am just not good at giving compliments that's all. I rarely say that anything is good, nuless it is exceptional. BTW - I also enjoy frog bashing, depending on the way in which it is done - as a lsugh i enjoy it - but I will always defend them from someone I consider bigoted.

I try to avoid bashing of people of the french persuasion.

Well ... with the exception of the bretons ... the corsicans and the parisians...
