According to the mutton dressed as lamb weather girl, the weekend is going to be scorchingly hot.

Not for me 'The pale and interesting' thang ... nahh ... i'm going to a) get some colour on my bones and b) risk life and limb and do a bit of a tour of the capital.

Since last month, the city council has set up a thing called 'Velib'.

It's very simple: dotted around Paris there are bike stands where you hire a bike, cycle around a bit, then dump off said bike at another stand.

All for the modest sum of 1€ for half an hour's riding around.
