I'm completly mad about ...

Music

When i was a kid i used to do all sorts of jobs at the weekend to earn a bit of pocket money.

In England we have guys who get up at the crack of dawn to deliver "milk and a whole lot more to your door" so that we can all enjoy our morning bowl of cornflakes and a nice cup of tea before going to work how twee.

It's not a farming community thing it's pretty much common everywhere in the u.k.

From the age of about nine or ten, i used to get up at six am every saturday and sunday morning to go out and deliver milk.

Rain or sun, pissing rain or ice cold snowy mornings, it didn't make any difference: i was up and out, like good little soldier to earn my £2 (!!) a day ... we say quid, not quids, by the way ... for any u.s visitors who just might be passing through ;-)

At first, i used to go to amusement arcades with my chums Sean, Chris, Steve and his bruv' Daryl ... and spend it all - at 10p a throw - on playing games like 'Defender', 'Tron' and 'Tank commander' ...

At that time the charts were filled with bands like the Sex Pistols, the Buzzcocks and Sham '69 - all of which were toooo outré for my young and impressionable little ears.

In 1979 i discovered Blondie and had a poster of Debbie Harry in a zebra-kinda-leotard-kinda-affair phwouarrr on my bedroom wall.
