Voix Off

Part II

Quick recap : Ex boss, has set up p.r company, makes training vids for companies, needs an english voice over for an intro video ...

.. *Gulp * ...

We arranged to meet today to see if there's anything i could do - i've got an o.k reading voice, i can translate fairly accurately ... so we'll see, i thought.

I arrived at about five thirty and had my first look at the vid.

The CEO; fifty-something, transplanted from the public sector to a major highstreet fashion chain-store company, has managed to turn things around with quick responsiveness and ... and ... and ..... etc etc kinda blahblah ....

The video in its-self is very good; you've got images of the Ceo talking which has been intercut with bits of music, images of stores and the products.

About a third of the dialogue had been translated, the rest needed to be done on site (not too difficult).

The sections of audio ranged from little 'bites' of about 8 seconds to relatively long sections of about 45 seconds.

The added complication was that as he spoke, key bullet points would pop up on screen.

The idea was for me to be in phase with the CEO, speak over him, say the key words in time with the bullet points appearing and generally end at the same time as he did...

So far so good ...
