An englishman in Paris

mercredi, juillet 26, 2006

Hoorahhhhh.

The skies darkened suddenly tonight at about eight o'clock.

A storm warning alert was issued to fifteen departements.

We have a colour coded warning scheme here: Green = "so unimportant, we're not even going to talk about it".

Red = "Stock up on dried food and duct tape"

A code orange was issued to Paris and its immediate environs.

The wind lifted suddenly, sun scorched leaves were blown into the sky and the rain started to fall.

The storm finally kicked in at about 21.30 - big time. Multiple flashes, terriffying big bangs from up above, scared cats hiding under the bed.

The works.

I reckon we've had about .5mm of rain.

I'm pretty sure it all evoprated before it even made it to the ground.
