Le Crillon - Part I
Mini photo blog of the french teams arrival back home (I from III.
Today was a bit difficult at work.
Everyone was hungover, limit depressed, all saying that Italy didn't 'win', France lost the world cup ....
As for Zizou, we all agreed that he thoroughly deserved to be sent off, no question.
But why did he give the guy a Glasgow kiss ??
Depending on where one gets ones information, it was because Materazzi called him an immigrant terrorist, a big girls blouse, a raving pooftah or even that Zizou's sister was a screamer in the sack ....
Whilst looking at the BBC site this morning, their take on it was that Materazzi gave him a bit of a sly nipple tweak ...
Who really knows.
Whilst i was reading the french sports paper - L'équipe - it said that the team wouldn't go for a victory parade on the Champs Elysées: you only do that if you win something.
The team would, however, do a balcony thing at about 2.30pm from the hotel (Le Crillon) where they were staying for the press interviews and debriefing.
Wayhayyyyy; the Crillon is a five minute metro stop away at Place de La Concorde.
;-)
I said to my boss, who i really thought would get the joke, that i had an RDV to organise training for 24 people at the Crillon.
She had lunch and apparently went by there, because, when she came back she asked me if i really thought it was such a good idea to go today "there seems to be hundreds of people gathering for some kind of demonstration - you'll never get in there", she said.
I said to her, that, well you know, i'm sure things will be fine ... and so off i trotted at about ten to three.

This is what i saw :
I don't know how many people were there. At a guess there must have been at least 5 000, maybe twice that.
The noise was incredible with people shouting "Zizou président, Zizou président", or "On a été volés" ... we were robbed ... to the tune of "On est en finale".
There were young people, old people, mothers with young children .. all ages and all colours.

Why the 'stookie' ?
Do we say a 'big stookie' .. a 'reet 'ol stookie'
I'd quite like to know to be honest.
who were you for in the final ?
I would so have loved to be there - but I was stuck at the office.
SHould have cancelled my meetings
by the way was for france. of course.
Heheheh.
That's why i invented a RDV.
I couldn't imagine saying that i'm just popping off to see the boyyzz and getting away with it to boot.
I'm pleased i went,though.
I've spent most of the day converting the best 15 or so photos into a PPT presentation for my bestest clients & colleagues.
:)
